Queensland Pickleball Tour

What isQueensland Pickleball Tour (QPT)?

The QPT is a series of tournaments held across Queensland that aims to provide competitive play opportunities for players registered with the Pickleball Association of Australia (PA). PAQ provides support for these tournaments, which are held in various locations across the state each year.

2026 sees events being held in:

Gold Coast | Gladstone | Mackay | Townsville | Brisbane | Sunshine Coast | Yeppoon | Hervey Bay | Cairns | Bundaberg

Hosting an Event

Expressions of interest to host QPT events for the following year are called for by emailing current affiliates around July - August. Successful hosts are notified of their success shortly after the cut-off date, but must formally accept the offer before it is confirmed.

Event Age & Skill Categories

Each year, there is a set of mandatory brackets that all QPT events must include. This year, they are singles, gender doubles, and mixed doubles in the following age brackets:

Opens, 19+, 35+, 50+, 60+, 70+

Except for the "Open" event, each age category will offer at minimum the following skill levels: <3.49, 3.5 - 3.99, and 4.0+. In some cases, additional age categories and skill brackets may be offered by hosts depending on venue capacities and registrations.

Playing in Lower Age Categories

A team may only enter a lower age category if at least one player qualifies for that category by age.

Example: To enter the 19+ Women’s Doubles, at least one team member must be aged between 19-34. The other player may be older (eg. 60+).

Refunds

Refunds will not be issued after the tournament closes, unless a valid medical certificate is provided. Tournament Directors will make every effort to run the tournament as scheduled. However, no refunds will be issued if the event is cancelled due to rain.

Late Entries

A $10 late entry fee may be applied to any player accepted after the registration deadline. However, late entries are not guaranteed and are subject to approval.

Minimum Players in an Event

Each event requires a minimum of four teams or players to proceed.

If an event does not meet this minimum, it will be merged according to the following guidelines:
 70+ events will merge, based on age first.
 All other events will merge, based on skill level.

Example:
If there are only 2 teams in the 60+ Women’s Doubles <3.49 and 4 teams in 50+ Women’s Doubles <3.49, the 60+ teams will be merged into the 50+ Women’s Doubles <3.49. The original 60+ Women’s Doubles <3.49 event will be removed.

Looking for a Partner?

Players are encouraged to begin their search for a partner early, as the Tournament Organisers do not provide matchmaking services. It is each player’s responsibility to secure a partner before the event.

Note: When registering, players who indicate they need a partner allow other players without
a partner to reach out to them.
